I'm Berta Valverde, a visual storyteller working between the UK and Spain. Originally from Spain, I moved to England over a decade ago, where I studied and developed most of my career as a videographer and photographer. The UK’s creative industry and visual culture have greatly shaped my style, cinematic, emotive, and grounded in storytelling. Today, I work actively across both countries, collaborating on a wide range of projects between Spain and the UK.

My creative path began in a very different field, I trained and worked as a Psychologist and Neuroscientist before transitioning into the world of visual media. With a deep fascination for human behaviour and storytelling, I left the security of my scientific career to study Digital Filmmaking in Oxford, a bold move that has shaped everything I create today.

Since then, I’ve built a versatile freelance career as a videographer, photographer, and colourist, working across branded content, music videos, documentary, events, and drama. My credits include acclaimed productions such as Black Mirror, McQueen, and God’s Own Country, as well as collaborations with renowned international directors like Mohsen Makhmalbaf.

As a photographer, I’m especially drawn to capturing raw, unrepeatable moments — particularly in nature. Water photography is a personal passion of mine: the ocean’s ever-changing light, movement, and unpredictability inspire much of my visual work.
